Authorized Users

 

An Alberta Emergency Alert can be issued by individuals who have been designated by their community, organization, or department. These individuals are called Authorized Users and may include:

 

  • Emergency Managers
  • Municipal Officials
  • First Nation Representatives
  • Provincial Government Departments (Alberta Emergency Management Agency, Alberta Environment)
  • Federal Government Departments (Environment Canada)

 

Alberta Police Services are also authorized to issue AMBER Alerts, which notify the public if a child or an adult with a proven mental or physical disability has been abducted.
